Defending law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that police was doing its job and cautioned media not to rush to any conclusion. “UP police is doing a good job. They (police) have solved most of the cases though sometimes they have taken time to crack it,’ he said while addressing reporters here on Wednesday.
He said people and media should have a patience and faith on the UP police. “At least people should have faith on Samajwadi Party Government that no injustice will be committed against anyone,” he said.
Yadav blamed the media to creating hype in most of the crime cases. “What happened in Mohanalganj case. You knew the truth still wrote concocted stories. Even in Budaun case media went overboard and brought bad name to UP and the state government,” he said. “Government is working in a transparent manner. WE want to weed out corruption and crime from the society and therefore are working on this direction,” he said.
When asked about AAP’s victory in Delhi he said people of Delhi have done the best thing by electing AAP. “The work AAP started in Delhi will culminate in Uttar Pradesh with SP handing over a humiliating defeat to BJP,” he said. To another question whether Arvind Kejriwal will be able to fulfill his promises Yadav said: “I should not answer questions on behalf of other parties.”
