Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav called on Governor Ram Naik on Sunday and held a detailed discussion over convening of the Budget session of the state legislature from January 29 and pending bills with Raj Bhawan.
Raj Bhawan spokesman said that one-to-one meeting between two continued for almost an hour.
“As this would be the first session of the year Governor would address the joint session. Governor informed Chief Minister about the new guidelines issued by President over convening of the joint session of the state legislature and expected that these would be followed in letter and in spirit,” the spokesman said
It may be recalled that following an initiative from Governor Ram Naik the President of India Pranab Mukherjee has issued guidelines to all states on convening of the joint session. These guidelines talk about how the House would conduct during the joint session and what would be the protocol.
Chief Minister has assured Governor that government would work as per the guidelines and wishes of the President of India.
Governor has issued an appeal to all parties to maintain diginity of the State legislature and allow Governor to complete his speech. Disruptions not only affect the government working but also give a bad name to the State legislature, he said.
The budget session of the state legislature begins from January 29. Chief Minister, who also holds Finance ministry, is expected to present budget on February 12. The date will be finalized by next week.
Chief Minister also discussed pending bills with the Governor.
