CM attacks centre of dividing State

Making a frontal attack of the Centre and state governments by other parties in the state, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav accused them of dividing the society instead of initiating developmental works resulting in the backwardness of UP.

“Samajwadi’s should be cautious and we will give such forces a befitting reply when at the right time,” asserted the CM and squarely blamed the three main parties – the BJP, the Congress and the BSP for backwardness of UP.

Yadav made the allegations while addressing a gathering at the Deen Dayal University campus in Gorakhpur on Thursday afternoon. He laid foundation stone of 79 projects amounting Rs 379.70 crore besides inaugurating 69 projects amounting Rs 205.14 crores.

In his 30-minute speech, Yadav particularly targeted the Centre accusing the BJP-led NDA of being jealous with the developments taken up by the Samajwadi Party government in UP.

“let the Centre put innumerable hurdles before the SP government, I assure the people of this state that

with our own efforts and the people’s support, we will surely transform Uttar Pradesh into ‘Uttam Pradesh’,” asserted Yadav charging the Centre of not releasing funds for developmental work.

Taking a jibe at the Union government’s much-hyped ‘Swachch Bharat, Swastha Bharat’ programme, the CM quipped, “I do not know where they used the broom or where they cleaned, but I can say that this is a ‘new business’ (dhanda) and the BJP will ‘definitely gain’ out of it.”

Yadav further charged the Centre for doing nothing for the welfare of the distressed farmers or cane growers, whose dues were cleared by the UP government.

Recalling the numerous deaths caused in eastern UP due to Japanese Encephalitis every year, the CM said that his government wanted an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) like hospital in Gorakhpur to offer best medical care to the residents but the Union government was not co-operating.

“I have written to the Union Health minister to sanction an AIIMS like hospital in Gorakhpur and also informed them that we will provide the land, but the NDA government did not respond, just like they do not respond to other developmental projects proposed by my government,” charged Yadav.

He further said that the SP government has facilitated up gradation of BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur and promised that his government would take all steps necessary, including supply of clean water to villages, to effectively fight Japanese Encephalitis in the affected areas of eastern UP.

For the locals, the CM announced the construction of an over bridge to tide over the problem of traffic snarls  on the Mohaddipur-Rustampur route. He also promised to develop Unwal and Urwa tehsils as town-areas, construct separate hostels for boys and girls in Deen Dayal University (Gorakhpur).

Earlier, the CM distributed cheques of compensation to farmers, Samajwadi Pension Scheme, Kanya Vidya Dhan Yojna and distributed cycles, tri-cycles, laptops etc to beneficiaries under various welfare schemes run by the government.
