Advocating a synchronized publicity campaign to highlight his government’s achievements Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has asked office bearers of frontal organisations to spread the message of good work being done by the government among people. “The Samajwadi Party Government is doing so much for the masses but the people at the ground level do not know about this. The opposition is making use of this and is spreading a canard against the state government,” Yadav told the leaders in a meeting held here on Monday.
The meeting was attended by presidents, secretaries and other officer bearers of four frontal organisations namely lohia Vahini, Samajwadi Chatra Sabha, Mulayam Singh Yadav Youth Brigade and Samajwadi Yuvjan Sabha. “The benefits of government policies can reach the masses only if people’s representatives, party and the government work together. If we work as united force no one can stop Samajwadi Party from coming to power next time,” he said. The assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh are slated for 2017.
Yadav, who is also state president of the party said that only youth have the potential to counter reactionary forces. “The on-going India’s economic policies will only lead to unemployment and poverty. This will increase chasm between different sections of the society. In this scenario only Samajwadi Party policies can act as a calm and unite the people,” he said.
Talking about the development schemes his government has launched Yadav said in infrastructure sector roads are being built across state and to speed up local commutation metro rail services are being launched. At social sector Samajwadi Party pension scheme has been launched and in education sector government has revived Kanya Vidyadhan scheme. Besides, meritorious students are being given laptops, he said.
“These developments have a desired effect. Many industrialists who had earlier moved out of UP are now willing to invest here. Over 2000 dairies have been started. Akshaya Patra is providing food to over 25,000 students through mid-day meal system,” he said and added: “Union Government has launched Make in India campaign. Without involving UP it will have no impact.” He asked the youth to spread the message of good work being carried out by his government. “It is only the youth power that can ensure victory of party in elections. It had done it previously and will do it now,” he said.
