Advocating his government’s commitment to improve health care facilities in the state Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav asked private sector to help government to take medicare to poor man’s door step.

“The Samajwadi Party government always believes in providing better health care facilities to the poor. New medical colleges have been opened at many places while CHCs and PHCs have been upgraded. This is done with only one aim to take cheap health care facility at villagers’ door step,” Yadav said while inaugurating a super specialty hospital here on Monday.

He said when Government is doing its bit in rural areas the private sector is providing top-class health care facilities in the urban areas. “I appeal the private sector to come forward and open International standard hospitals in the state. The Government will provide all facilities in this regard,” he said.

Yadav asked for the help of private doctors and business men to make lucknow a hub of medical tourism. “We should have such good quality hospitals that people from the US and Europe should come here for treatment. This will generate employment at lower level,” he said.

“The government has proved that if there are good hospitals and doctors people from far flung areas will come for treatment,” he said. To buttress his point he gave example of UP Rural Institute of Medical Science and Research where people from Madhaya Pradesh and rajasthan come for treatment.

He said doctors are the backbone of government’s this ambitious project because they enjoy the status of God. A good doctor means an assurance that the patient will go back home healthy, he said.
