CM asks ministers to re-evaluate improvement after 100 days

Reiterating his government’s policy of zero tolerance against corruption, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked all ministers to issue a white paper on their respective departments and also to re-evaluate improvement after 100 days.

In an elaborate directive to his ministers issued on Friday, Yogi said that ministers should follow directives given during the presentation of their departments.

“After completing 100 days in office, the government will re-evaluate its policies and will also issue a report card for the public,” Yogi said in a statement which was read out by spokesman and Power minister Shrikant Sharma in lukcnow on Friday.

This is the first time that Chief Minister has set a time limit for his ministers. By giving a period of 100 days, the CM has made it clear that he meant business.

Similar directives were issued for bureaucrats where Yogi made it clear that officials of the districts from where he would get maximum complaints would be pulled up.

“Ministers who are in-charge of districts should visit their respective areas and educate people about policies of the state and central governments. They should also meet beneficiaries of government schemes to get their feedback. People know about many central schemes in cities but villagers are ignorant about these projects. District officials have been informed that this government will not tolerate laxity on this front,” Th Chief Minister said.

Yogi also asked ministers to inspect hospitals, Community Health Centres (CHCs) and Primary Health Centers (PHCs) to ensure attendance of staff. These ministers should also get feedback about power distribution, operation of wheat and potato purchase centres. Besides, they should also evaluate law and order situation at village level.

“Basic education is a big grey area. The quality of education should be improved. Teachers’ attendance should be ensured and there is need to improve facilities made available to the students,” Yogi said.

The CM also spoke about corruption and said that the government has a policy of zero tolerance against corruption. “A corrupt officer should not be allowed to go scot free by giving warning. An FIR be lodged against him and strict action be taken against that officer,” he said.

Special directives were issued on cleanliness. People were asked not to use plastic cups as it results in chocking of nullahs. Officials were asked to get all sewer lines cleaned before rains set in. The DMs were asked to start cleanliness campaign in villages.
