Alleging lack of cooperation from the Centre, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that if BJP MPs had met him he would have given them a “return gift” in form of memorandum seeking their help to start flow of central funds for development of the state.

“If BJP MPs had come to submit a memorandum I would have given them return gift. This is the age of return gift. If they had come to submit a memorandum I would have given them a memorandum and would had sought their help to initiate flow of Central Government funds,” ,” Yadav said at the backdrop of the meeting of the members of the Dalit Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industries here on Monday.

Over two dozen MPs from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had staged 24 hour long dharna outside Vidhan Bhawan that started on Saturday. On culmination of their protest they wanted to submit a memorandum to Chief Minister but later changed their mind and submitted the memorandum to Principal Secretary of Governor in the absence of Ram Naik.

Yadav said that state looks towards Centre to speed up development process. But it is ironical that despite UP sending 71 MPs from BJP to lok Sabha, the NDA Government was neglecting this state. “I have written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking centre’s assistance in speeding up development of UP. We need funds and the same could be provided by the Centre,” Yadav said.

Ridiculing BJP he said that he would not go by number of MPs present in this much hyped protest Yadav said this dharna is exposed BJP. “It is now clear that the party is losing ground in the state,” he said.

later talking to the representatives of Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industries he said that Micro, Medium and Small Industries provide maximum employment opportunity at the rural level. “My Government has targeted this sector and has made special plans for SC/ST entrepreneurs to ensure that they can create a market for themselves and the villagers alike,” he said.

The delegation by led by Milind Kambli.

“The Samajwadi Party Government has prepared projects to speed up development. This is the only government of the country which implements projects that would help people of all sections of society. We are of firm belief that if villages can progress states will progress and if state move forward, the Country will prosper. Therefore, our target is to improve village economy at the earliest,” he said.

Kambli in his speech congratulated Chief Minister for creating pro-Industry scenario. He demanded that in all policies dalit entrepreneurs should be given special package.
