CM appeals to bring awareness on use of helmet and avoiding earphones

Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath appealed to peoples’ representatives to spread awareness among the masses on using helmet while driving bikes and avoid earphones while driving or crossing rail tracks. The CM also lectured legislators to remove hooters from their vehicles.

Speaking on the grants of Home department in the assembly, Yogi said that every day, close to two dozen people die in the state due to road accidents. “Their precious lives could be saved if people comply with traffic rules and use helmets and stop using earphones while driving,” he said.

“I appeal to all MlAs present in the House and others to spread awareness among the people about traffic rules. I also urge you to not put hooters on your vehicles. It’s indeed distressing to find that imparting elementary knowledge about road safety and traffic rules was not part of the education system and curriculum,” the CM said.

Yogi said that the police have been entrusted to go for massive checking drives in cities and other places to force drivers to put on helmets and avoid using head phones.  He also said that the police will also be tough on youths who indulge in stuntriding on their two-wheelers.
