CM Akhilesh Yadav to take public opinion for the next fiscal agenda preparation

Taking a cue from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative to involve people in development, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has decided to take public opinion in preparing agenda for the next fiscal.

Chief Minister’s office through its twitter handle CM Office GOUP informed that Chief Minister wants the agenda for the next fiscal to be more people participatory. It said: “

UPCM #Akhilesh yadav wants @UPGovt #Development agenda 2015-16 to be more inclusive & people-participatory.”

It further said that the website of CM Office will take public opinion and make it more participatory. “People are welcome to put their ideas and suggestions,” it further said.

Government spokesman told The Pioneer that Chief Minister wanted people to air their views about the problems areas and give suggestions to overcome them. As per people’s suggestions the development agenda of the next fiscal would be set up, he said.

The website of CM’s Office is open and people can start uploading their suggestions right now, the spokesman said. On August 19 Prime Minister had invited ideas from the people on the new institutions to replace the Planning Commission.

“This is an innovative idea of Chief Minister to involve public in finalizing development schemes. This will give the Chief Minister a broad idea as what exactly people want and in which sector the government should put its resources,” Dr S.P. Pandey, of Govind Ballabh Pant Institute of Studies in Rural Development, lucknow, said.

Dr Pandey said NGOs working in different sectors have a better idea where government intervention is required. Their views and suggestions will help state government, he said.
