Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials concerned not to snap the electricity connections of farmers and also asked the MPs and MLAs to publicise the government’s industrial policy.
“There have been reports of power disconnections from some areas. This is not acceptable. No farmer’s electricity connection will be disconnected due to non-payment of bills. Clear-cut orders have been issued to the power corporation in this regard,” the chief minister said during a review meeting of Mathura, Agra, Firozabad and Mainpuri here on Tuesday.
As the meeting was attended by the MPs and MLAs, the CM asked the public representatives to publicise the new industrial policy of the state government with the cooperation of the district administration. “Discussions should be held among the youth in local universities and colleges and people’s representatives should participate in these programmes,” he said.
Yogi said MPs and MLAs should inspect the development projects being run in their respective areas. These schemes are helpful in building the image of local public representatives, he added.
“Social media has emerged as the most effective medium of communication in this age. All MPs and MLAs should use social media platforms to highlight the schemes of the government,” the CM said.
“In recent times, some districts have received investments worth thousands of crores by organising district investors’ summits. Similar efforts should be made in all the districts. People’s representatives should lead these summits,” Yogi said.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given us the mantra of ‘Reform, perform and transform’ for overall development. Incorporating this mantra into our action plan has brought about significant improvement to the state’s economy over the last five-and-a-half years. Uttar Pradesh is recognised as the best destination for investors from India and abroad. Investors from around the country and the world are excited to invest in Uttar Pradesh now. This change is going to pave the way for the golden future of our state and our youth,” he said.
The Uttar Pradesh Global Investors’ Summit (GIS-2023) is being planned for February 10-12. In view of this special event, ‘Team UP’ that went to invite investors from the country and the world has received investment proposals totalling more than Rs 12 lakh crore from the industry everywhere.
“This GIS will be historic as it will help the state achieve its goal of becoming a $1 trillion economy by 2027. “Ayodhya, Kashi and Mathura are gaining prestige on the global stage with their ancient glory. As per public sentiment, the government has constituted the Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad in Mathura and work is being done for the overall development of Mathura-Vrindavan. The development of the Braj region is our priority,” he said and asked the local MPs and MLAs to keep inspecting the development projects.
He also asked the MP and MLAs to ensure better connectivity of the villages with the Parikrama Marg as the government has plans to strengthen 84-Kosi Parikrama Marg in the Braj region.
“Today, more than 9 lakh cattle have been protected in cow shelters operating in the state. The scheme of giving Rs 900 per month to farmers interested in cattle rearing is also getting good results. Taking interest in such schemes, MPs/MLAs should try to connect the general public to them,” the CM said.
He said that respecting public sentiment, Chhatrapati Shivaji Memorial should be established in Agra. MPs and MLAs should prepare a better action plan in this regard by coordinating with the Culture department and the district administration, he said.
“The government wants the complaints pouring in on Thana and Tehsil Diwas to be resolved. People’s representatives should themselves inspect the arrangements here,” he added.
