Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that expressways, highways and waterways built in the country over the past nine years were the face of ‘New India’ because the work done in the last nine years was unprecedented.

During the foundation stone laying ceremony of five National Highway projects worth Rs 2,200 crore in Pratapgarh, the chief minister described the 4-lane highway connecting Pratapgarh to Ayodhya, Sultanpur, as “an extremely important National Highway project” because Ram temple would be inaugurated in Ayodhya early next year.

“In 2025, a grand and divine Kumbh will be organised in Prayagraj. Keeping this in mind, the foundation stone of the four-lane road project is being laid here, which will connect Pratapgarh to Prayagraj,” he said.

Asserting that Pratapgarh was touching a new height of development, the chief minister said: “Today there is a medical college in Pratapgarh. Earlier, it was unimaginable. Now, all facilities are available here.”

The chief minister spoke about his recent trip to Kashi for the G-20 summit and said that foreign guests, who had come to Varanasi to attend the meet, were overwhelmed on seeing development. “Today, Kashi is connected to Lucknow, Prayagraj and Gorakhpur with four-lane roads. When our foreign visitors saw the Ganges of Kashi, they were astounded by its purity,” he said.

“This is the new India; under the prime minister’s guidance, India is now drawing attention from around the world,” he said.

The chief minister said today, Uttar Pradesh had emerged as a model of development and law and order under the leadership of the prime minister. “Only those whose unethical activities we have stopped are questioning UP’s law and order. We would not have received investments of Rs 35 lakh crore at the Global Investors’ Summit if law and order had not been improved,” he said.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that Uttar Pradesh would become the number one state in the country in the coming times under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

“Farmers will advance, they will find work, and Uttar Pradesh’s road infrastructure will match that of the United States,” he said.

The Union minister said that today the law and order situation of Uttar Pradesh was being discussed across the country. “The development of any state depends on its industries. Without industry, there will not be any jobs, and without jobs, poverty will not be eradicated,” he said.

Gadkari further said that UP was making rapid strides in terms of agricultural development, infrastructure improvement, and industrial growth. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Yogi, we are making eight greenfield corridors in Uttar Pradesh, which will be very helpful in the development of Uttar Pradesh,” he said.

The Union minister said that 40 bypasses were going to be built in Uttar Pradesh at a cost of Rs 41,000 crore.

The foundation stones of following projects were laid:

● Construction of 43-km-long Pratapgarh-Sultanpur 4-lane road at a cost of Rs 1,290 crore.

● Construction of 21-km-long Chilbila-Lohia Nagar 2-lane paved shoulder road at a cost of Rs 333 crore.
