The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to set up a training centre of the Central Institute of Plastic Engineering Technology (CIPET) in Ayodhya for providing vocational training to youth for self-employment.
For this, 10.030 acre of land will be transferred free of cost to the MSME department in Ganja village of Ayodhya district.
A decision to this effect was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday.
Two vocational training centres of the CIPET have already been established in the state, one Lucknow and the other in Varanasi, and with this decision, the third centre will now come up in Ayodhya.
The CIPET offers graduate, post-graduate and diploma courses in plastic engineering and manufacturing technology and is affiliated to the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University.
In another decision, the state government has decided to set up 13 medical colleges so that all the major districts have one medical college. These medical colleges will be set up in Kanpur Dehat, Chandauli, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bulandshahar, Sonbhadra, Pilibhit, Auraiya, Lalitpur, Kushinagar, Gonda, Sultanpur, Bijnor and Kaushambi.
“These state-run medical colleges would be set up under the Centre’s establishment of new medical colleges scheme and attached to existing district/referral hospitals schemes. The cabinet approved Rs 288.70 crore for this, a government spokesman said.
The state cabinet also approved a proposal of the Health department to give employment to doctors under specialised category through state service selection commission.
The spokesman said that at present there were 19,011 sanctioned posts of doctors out of which 8,431 were posts of specialists.
“Out of these sanctioned posts of specialist doctors, only 2,922 are filled, which is close to 35 percent of the total posts. The cabinet felt that this was because at present there was a provision for direct employment of only MBBS doctors, while there was no provision for direct employment of specialist doctors despite having 8,431 sanctioned posts for them,” he said.
The cabinet approved change in guidelines so that specialised doctors could be appointed directly.
The cabinet also approved a proposal to increase the area of Ayodhya Industrial Area by incorporating 164 revenue villages of Ayodhya district, 63 revenue villages of Gonda and 126 revenue villages of Bast districts.
The government also approved construction of Chaudhry Charan Singh Kawad Marg passing through Muzaffarnagar, Meerut and Ghaziabad districts. This will be constructed on the right side of the Gang canal at a cost of Rs 62,874 lakh.
