CBI clean chit testimony to my innocence: Raja Bhaiya

Published on:

Claiming that CBI probe has vindicated his innocence from the charges of the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP)  murder, former minister and Independent MlA Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiyya said that it was purely a political conspiracy to implicate him in the case.

''Dragging the name of my aides and me in the case was not mere any incident but a political conspiracy to defame me,'' he said without taking any names but claimed that no Samajwadi Party leaders were involved in the conspiracy. ''Had CBI investigated on the lines who were behind the conspiracy to implicated me in the case, the names of these politicians would have been disclosed but it is not proper for me to take their names,'' he said.

The former minister also announced he would consider to file defamation suit and any case against DySP wife Praveen Azad for falsely  naming him in the murder of her husband after discussing the matter with his supporters. Talking to reporters here after CBI gave him a clean chit in the DySP Zia-ul-Haq murder in Kunda on March 2, Raja Bhaiyya claimed that the murder of the police officer was only due to a mob frenzy after the killing of the Walipur pradhan Nanhe Yadav.   ''But it is strange how Praveen Azad knew the names of my close aides and put them in the FIR. This proves about the conspiracy,'' he said.

Annoyed with the media, he said every time any crime happens in Pratapgarh his name is dragged in it.'' Do the names of Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi could be taken in the crimes happening in Amethi and Rae Bareli,'' he questioned. Raja Bhaiyya even said, several politicians have been charged by the CBI but he is the first political leader who agreed to go for polygraph test by the CBI as he was confident that his innocence would be proved.'' The CBI interrogated me for about 28 hours before going for lie-detector test and now my innocence has been vindicated,'' he claimed.

The former minister expressing his gratitude to SP president Mulayam Singh Yadav, Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, all SP ministers and legislators for supporting him in the fight, said that it is the prerogative of the CM to accommodate him in the state ministry. ''I had resigned from the ministry as post is not bigger than a person's prestige,'' he stated. Several SP thakur ministers and legislators were present with Raja Bhaiyya in the press conference to show their solidarity with the leader.
