A team of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) comprising sleuths from Lucknow and Delhi offices, raided a house in connection with child pornography racket in Mughalsarai Kotwali locality of Chandauli and detained a youth identified as Suraj for quizzing on Tuesday morning.

The sleuths also checked his mobile phone which contained many obscene videos and photos in the gallery.

The suspect’s mobile phone number was also linked in many WhatsApp groups containing child pronography.  Suraj, a class five dropout and a tailor by profession, told the interrogators that he had joined the group for making new friends.

In fact, the CBI team also conducted raids across the country to prevent the spread of child pornography through the Internet.

An eight-member team from Lucknow and Delhi, led by Inspector Hemant Rai, reached the house of Suraj Kumar at Lath number-2 in Mughalsarai Kotwali area and searched the entire house. After this, they called Suraj and checked his mobile. During investigation, the team also grilled the youth on many points to find out his links with the gang involved in spreading child pornography on internet.

Sources said that the sleuths found links of foreign numbers on the youth's WhatsApp group, in which obscene videos were stored. After clicking on the link, money was demanded in exchange for a short video clip.

During quizzing, Suraj revealed that he had clicked on the link only once or twice but had also deleted many groups a few days ago. In fact, the booming business of child pornography has been spreading fast on the net. Racketeers sitting abroad have been serving child porn videos to people by connecting it through WhatsApp and other internet media. On November 14, the CBI had registered 23 cases against 83 accused in cases related to sexual abuse of children.
