Candidate list to be announced from june: Maurya

State BJP chief and lok Sabha member from Phulpur, Keshav Prasad Maurya announced that the party will start releasing names of candidates for the 2017 Assembly polls from June.

"The party is gearing up for the 2017 polls and it will declare the names of candidates well in advance. The first list of candidates will be announced by June,” Maurya told reporters in Bareilly on Tuesday.

"Though the issue of Ram Temple at Ayodhya is on the agenda of the BJP, the party will contest UP on the issue of development as the state is lagging behind in all parameters. It is only the BJP which can transform Uttar Pradesh into Uttam Pradesh," he said and reiterated that the BJP would win 265 seats in the Assembly polls.

"The SP and the BSP have looted the state during the past 14 years and now, the power should go in the hands of the BJP for a better future of the state," he said.

Criticising Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for adopting double standards and doing politics over water crisis, Maurya said that on one hand the state government refuses water sent by the Centre and on the other, it is demanding Rs 10,600 crores from the Centre.

Commenting on the poor law and order situation in UP, the state BJP chief said that every individual in the state is suffering from bad governance.

"Farmers are not getting water for irrigation despite the governing declaring the year as 'Kisan Varsh'. The government is shedding crocodile tears in the name of farmers’ welfare,” he said.

"The BJP will throw the SP government out like we did to the Congress at the Centre,” Maurya asserted.
