Taking serious note of the gang rape of two women and a minor girl of a family during a road hold-up in Bulandshahr on Friday night, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav cracked the whip and suspended SSP and SP City of Bulandshahr alongwith five others for laxity on Sunday.
The suspended officers are SSP Vaibhav Krishna, SP City Ram Mohan Singh, Circle Officer Himanshu Gaurav, Inspector Kotwali Dehat Ram Sen Singh, outpost in-charge Pramod, Highway Patrol officer Rustum Singh and constable Anurag Singh.
The Station Officer of Kotwali Dehat was suspended earlier on Saturday and the CM had sounded a warning to the top officials to arrest the miscreants and ensure deterrent punishment to them within 24 hours or face the music. Yadav is likely to meet the victims' family too.
The CM’s straight speak had created a flutter in the police department and DGP Javeed Ahmad sent 15 special teams to fan out and ensure the arrest of the miscreants after which the police dropped the net on three miscreants while they were waiting at the Bulandshahr bus stand.
Principal Secretary (Home) Devashish Panda and ADG (law and Order) Daljit Choudhury have also rushed to Bulandshahr to oversee the probe. The police has detained 20 suspects for the horrific gangrape and they were being quizzed.
ADG (law and Order) Daljit Choudhury said, "We have identified the main culprit through pictures and he belongs to a nomadic criminal tribe. The STF teams have been deputed and locations of the accused involved have been traced. Police teams are conducting massive raids for the arrest of the miscreants."
