Bukhari slams Mulayam

Maulana Syed Ahmed Bukhari, the Imam of Jama masjid Delhi  has slammed the Samajwasdi party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav for floating the idea of making a muslim as next chief minister of Bihar and parting company with anti BJP secular grand alliance.

In a letter on Monday to the chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, maulana said `On what grounds Mulayam Singh was talking of a muslim as next Bihar chief minister. In  UP the population of muslims was 20 percent while the Yadav were 8 percent, yet no muslim was ever considered fit for the post of the deputy chief minister leave alone the post of the chief minister’’.

Maulana said that the secular, democratic and justice loving people of the country, especially Muslims, were feeling extreme unease over the decision of the Samajwadi Party quit the grand alliance of secular parties and contest on its own.

Urging the SP to reconsider its decision on Bihar  Maulana said `` allegations were being hurled on  the Samajwadi Par5ty that it was hand in gloves with BJP, and such allegations can adversely impact the electoral prospects of the Samajwadi Party in the 2017 UP Assembly elections’’.

Bukhari who had backed the Samajwadi Party in 2012 state assembly elections, said `` the SP has disappointed the muslims as it failed to fulfil even one promise it had made to the muslims during the  elections’’. Maulana said `` even after three years of the SP government bring in office no action has been taken for the release of the innocent muslim youths languishing in jail for years, implementation of the Sachar committee recommendations, recruitment of the muslims to armed forces, police and Para military force, extension of reservation for muslims in government jobs and appointment of Urdu teachers’’.

Referring to the current political scenario Maulana said that all the so-called secular parties were responsible for the decline of Muslim representation in Parliament as well as State Assemblies. He accused that these parties had deliberately muffled the voice of the Muslims by giving less tickets to them, and in constituencies where tickets were given, non-Muslim voters didn’t vote for the Muslim candidates, whereas Muslim voters had always voted non-Muslim candidates of their constituencies to victory by voting enblock for that candidate.

“If no sincere effort is made by these so-called secular parties to field Muslim candidates and ensure their success in the ensuing Bihar assembly elections, so as to give Muslims a fair representation in the Assembly as per their share in the state’s population then Muslims will be left with the only option of conducting their political affairs on the basis of their own strength’’, Maulana said.
