The state government has decided to summon a brief budget session of the state legislature sometimes next month. The decision regarding this was taken in the state cabinet meeting here on Tuesday.
Spokesman said that Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was authorised to fix the dates of the session.
As this would be the first session in the calendar year, Governor B l Joshi will address the joint session of the state legislature.
The brief session would be held to pass the budget as no sessions could be held in view of lok Sabha elections.
The last session of the state legislature was held last month when the second supplementary budget was passed.
