As the BJP and the Congress have been demanding debate on CAG report on financial anomalies in construction of parks and memorials during Mayawati’s regime. The Bahujan Samaj Party has decided to hit the road on July 7 to protest this report.
“The BSP is pained at the meticulous campaign being launched by vested interest to defame Mayawati and dalit leaders. The BSP workers cannot swallow the humiliation any more. To protest this humiliation the BSP will stage protest outside Vidhan Bhawan on July 7,” leader of Opposition in Vidhan Sabha Swami Prasad Maurya said here on Friday.
He said that there was a systematic campaign against the BSP and its leader Mayawati. “The parks and memorials were the pride of dalit. It was an attempt to recognize the work of these dalit icons who worked for uplift of dalit,” Maurya said.
When asked about CAG report he said that the report does not say mus-appropriation of funds by any of the BSP leader. It talks about funds used by Niram Nigam in construction of parks.
This projection is wrong. The funds of Niram Nigam were used in systematic way in five year’s regime of Mayawati,” he said and added that BSP workers were hurt by the canard being spread by vested interest against the party leadership.
