BSP rejigs organisation eyeing 2022 UP polls

With the aim to galvanise party cadre and gear up for the 2022 Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh, Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati effected changes in responsibilities of divisional main sector representatives on Tuesday. The BSP had earlier announced to contest the bypolls to all the eight UP Assembly seats.

Sources in the BSP said that Shamsuddin Raini was given the responsibility of major divisions of Uttar Pradesh as well as Uttarakhand.

BSP state chief Munquad Ali was shifted from western to eastern UP. Raini’s political stature in the BSP has been steadily growing since Naseemuddin Siddiqui quit the party.

Raini was appointed coordinator of Uttarakhand along with the responsibility of being sector in-charge of five divisions of UP. He will be in-charge of Sector-2 comprising Lucknow division along with Saharanpur, Meerut, Moradabad and Bareilly.

The BSP chief entrusted Munquad Ali with the responsibility of Mirzapur, Allahabad, Varanasi and Azamgarh divisions. However, he will also oversee the state organisation.

Besides, former MP Ghanshyam Kharwar was made in-charge of Gorakhpur, Basti, Faizabad and Devipatan divisions.
