Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati appealed to the followers of Dr BR Ambedkar to celebrate his birth anniversary inside their homes due to lockdown restrictions imposed to fight coronavirus spread.
In a tweet on Sunday, Mayawati said that while praying to Dr Ambedkar from their homes on his birth anniversary on April 14, people should also think about the problems being faced by the deprived sections due to the lockdown.
She said that Dr Ambedkar always fought for the uplift of downtrodden and marginalised sections and everyone should commit to follow the path shown by the great Dalit icon.
