After emerging the most successful amongst the allies of the SP-BSP-RLD combine in the Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh by winning 10 seats, the Bahujan Samaj Party is likely to play the Muslim-Yadav (MY) card to increase its vote bank in case the Samajwadi Party part ways in the coming days.
With Dalits already in her party fold, BSP supremo Mayawati knows that if Muslims and Yadavs also ally with her party, she will not have to depend on SP in the next Assembly elections, especially as Akhilesh Yadav may distance himself from BSP as he too will be keen to become the chief minister.
Sources said that Mayawati was likely to make Member of Parliament from Amroha, Kunwar Danish Ali, leader of her party in the Lok Sabha and MP from Jaunpur, Shyam Singh Yadav, his deputy.
Interestingly, these two leaders are the front-runners for these two posts even when Mayawati has Dalit leaders as MPs.
