In a surprise move, five BSP candiadtes who tried their luck at the hiustings from five segments of lucknow, were expelled from the party for indugling in ‘anti-party activities’. A letter to trhis effect was issued by district BSP chief Dr Harikrishna Gautam in lucknow on Wednesday.
As per the BSP district unit release, the five BSP contestants - Ajay Kumar Srivastava, Saroj Kumar Shukla, Rajeev Srivastava, Yogesh Dixit and Shivshankar `Shankari’ were expelled from the party with immediate effect.
District BSP chief Dr Harikrishna Gautam stated that these leaders were engaged in anti-party activities and fomenting indiscipline within the outfit for which they were issued warning several times. Gautam claimed that since these leaders refused to mend their ways and continued to damage the party, they were finally expelled on the direction of BSP chief Mayawati.
