Confident of getting an absolute majority and forming next government in the State, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati claimed that this election will shatter the dream of `Guru and Chela’ — Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah, of their aim to retain power at the Center in 2019 as well.
“PM Modi’s frustration was clearly seen during his three days campaigning in Varanasi and it seems that the people of the state had already rejected the BJP as well as the SP-Congress alliance in this elections,” asserted Mayawati while showing her full confidence that reports of senior Party leaders and other inputs had put her Party on the comfortable position and she is going to form next government.
Talking to media persons here at her residence in Mall Avenue on Monday afternoon, the former UP chief minister questioned PM about his promise to end slaughter houses in the state if they come to power. “Banning the slaughter houses is the duty of the Central government and it can be done anytime. Besides, slaughter houses are rampant in the BJP ruled states like Maharastra, Haryana and MP while most of the BJP leaders owned them”, she questioned adding that did PM or other Saffron leaders do not have any information about it or they were trying to fool the people of the state in the name of closing slaughter houses.
Mayawati also asked BJP what about their take in the samsan and Kabristan issue in other BJP ruled states like their have raked it in UP. Mayawati alleged that the guru and chela( Modi and BJP president Amit Shah) were doing all type of ‘drama’ to woo the voters and even tried to communalise the elections. “PM and Shah did road shows and even went to temples but all their efforts failed to woo the voters who have made up their minds to punish them even in the last phase of polls on March 8 like they did in the last six phases,” she said while added that it is unfortunate that breaking all democratic norms since Independence, the PM campaigned like he was on the run for the chief minister post in UP. She said that even PM went to the extent of violating the EC norms of holding roadshow in Varanasi even without taking any permission.
“The people of Varanasi as not ready to hear any excuse from PM on failure in his part to improve basis infrastructure in the temple city even as the BJP MP from Varanasi, assured to make it like Quato city of Japan. What happened about cleaning of the Ganga,” she questioned. Claiming that with BSP on top, now the BJP and SP-Congress alliance were fighting for the second and third spot in the UP polls, Mayawati said, people were fed up with both BJP at the centre for its demonetisation and other failures while in UP they have seen the law and order of the SP government. Interestingly, just like Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, who avoids to speak anything against Mayawati in this election, even Mayawati on Monday, criticised both BJP and SP leaders, but not speak anything against Congress.
