Both Bahujan Samaj Party and Congress flayed the ruling BJP for celebrating one year in office claiming that it was more of `Ek Saal-Janta Behal’ as the government failed to forward any relief to the masses.
Reacting to BJP’s `Ek Saal, Nai Misal’ slogan to celebrate the first anniversary of the Yogi government, Mayawati said that it should ideally be ‘Ek Saal, Bura Misal’.
‘This BJP government has failed the people in just a year of its rule. It simpact could be seen in Gorakhpur and Phulpur lok Sabha bypolls where people rebuffed the BJP for their tall claims and no achievements,” said Mayawati.
In a statement issued in lucknow on Monday, the BSP chief said that the BJP failed to the keep up public expectations and even in Urban local Bodies poll, it lost from the Chief Minister’s ward in Gorakhpur.
“The BJP won the 2017 UP Assembly polls by dividing the society on communal and caste lines. But now people have started realising their fault and were rejecting the BJP in elections,” she said.
Dismissing the CM’s claim that no communal riots took place in the last one year, the four time CM of UP said that Yogi’s claim was a total lie.
“ Even if we discount smaller incidents, the communal riots in Kasganj triggered on Republic Day and this should not be forgotten by the BJP,” she said.
Attacking Yogi’s one year in office, state Congress president Raj Babbar said that the people were the best judge of the performance of any government. “The defeat of the BJP in bypolls only reflected public view about the present government’s performance,” he said.
``The BJP lost both Gorakhpur and Phulpur lok Sabha bypolls vacated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya. losing these seats clearly indicated that their work was rejected by t he public,” Babbar asserted.
“The stark reality is that the real picture in the state was one of `Ek Saal-Janta Behal’. Even the four year rule of BJP at the Centre has a similar report card. The BJP has been losing all lok Sabha and Assembly bypolls across the country,” the Congress leader said.
``Yogi Adityanath was aware that he and his ministers could not win any election hence they managed five MlCs of other parties, forced them to resign and entered the legislative Council through the back door. The people of the state were now ready to throw the BJP out of power in the 2019 general elections,” the state Congress chief asserted.
