Newly appointed Bharatiya Janata Party state president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary asserted that the party would win all the seats in the 2024 parliamentary polls in UP as party workers and leaders gave a rousing welcome to him during his maiden visit to the state capital as president of the UP unit of the party.

“The party will try to win the seats it had lost in the last elections,” Chaudhary said during his address at the party office here on Monday.

“I express my gratitude to the central leadership for giving a common man like me an important responsibility. I come from a small family. This is the real strength of the BJP that a small worker can also become the state unit president. The strength of the Bharatiya Janata Party is that in it no one is big or small. The BJP made a person like me a minister in the government and has now given me a big responsibility to run the organisation,” he said.

Chaudhary said when he was appointed the state president of the party, people asked whether he would be able to maintain coordination between the government and the organisation.

“My answer was that there is no lack of coordination between the party and the government. We have our own government and Yogi Adityanath is the only chief minister to take oath for the second successive time. This is the strength of all the workers which resulted in our resounding victory,” Chaudhary said.

He said from north India to the farthest parts of north-east India, BJP had formed governments. “Our base is expanding and it will continue to expand under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he added.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the government and the organisation would work together to ensure victory of BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha election.

Congratulating Bhupendra Singh for his appointment as party state unit chief, Yogi said that every worker of the state knew the ability of Chaudhary, who had discharged duties from the booth level to the state level.

“In the last five years and six months, Chaudhary has discharged his responsibility in the government, first as a minister of state with independent charge and later as a cabinet minister. During this, while strengthening the Panchayati Raj system of the state, he took public welfare schemes to every citizen, which is a great example in itself,” he said.

“I believe as the party chief Bhupendra Singh will be able to create better coordination between the government and the party organisation by taking the workers along with him in carrying forward the schemes of the Central and state governments,” Yogi said.

He also welcomed Dharam Pal Singh as BJP's new state general secretary (organisation).

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya also said that the party would win all the 80 Lok Sabha seats in UP.

Earlier, Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary was given a rousing welcome on his visit to Lucknow. Hundreds of party workers thronged the Charbagh railway station and later joined him in a big procession throwing the traffic haywire.

The road between Charbagh and party headquarters was decked up with saffron festoons and gates. Colourful hoardings were put up across the route painting that part of the city in a saffron hue.
