Attempting to reap political mileage out of the Mathura incident, the BJP has decided to demonstrate at all district headquarters on Monday demanding CBI probe and questioning the role of a senior Samajwadi Party leader and minister in the run up to the entire sequence.
On the direction of state BJP chief Keshav Prasad Maurya, the BJP leaders and workers will question the role of a senior minister in giving patronage to these criminals during the dharma. The leaders will also submit memorandum to district authorities highlighting jungle raj and misrule in UP.
“The leaders will highlight deterioration in law and order in the state. They will question as to how illegal squatters were allowed to live freely for over two years. The District Horticulture Officer had written umpteenth time requesting DM of Mathura, Commissioner Agra and seniors in lucknow to get the area vacated. Who were the men who gave a thumbs down to this request,” BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak questioned.
He said the law makers and officer bearers have been asked to actively participate in the demonstrations. “The basic question will be why is the ruling SP shying away from a CBI probe. Whom does this government want to protect,” Pathak said.
last Thursday, illegal squatters belonging to a particular cult fought a pitched battle with the police when it had gone there to get the land vacated. The fracas left 26 people, including two police officers, dead.
