In an attempt to increase its base in Uttar Pradesh the Bharatiya Janata Party plans a massive drive from May to popularize policies of the Modi Government and apprise the people of the anti-farmer policies of the Akhilesh Yadav Government. The decision regarding this was taken in a high-level meeting of former MPs, MlAs and former District Panchayat heads chaired by in-charge of UP affairs Om Mathur here on Wednesday.
Party state president Dr laxmi Kant Bajpai said that the campaign that will start from May will continue for next three months. “During this campaign leaders will go to every house who have digitally become member of the party. They would be apprised of the philosophy of BJP and attempts would be made to clarify their doubts if they have any,” Dr Bajpai told reporters here.
He said the leaders will popularize the policies of the Modi Government during their campaign as on June 26 the NDA Government will complete one year in office. “Talking points would be given to them which would revolve round national, political and foreign achievements of the NDA Government,” he said.
“The Samajwadi Party Government has failed on all fronts. The farmers are suffering because of unseasonal rain that has destroyed their crop. But the Government is yet to start relief operation,” he said. BJP state chief said that these leaders will issue an appeal to former MPs, former MlAs or well-to-do party leaders to do away with their gas subsidy. “These leaders will start a campaign regarding this,” he said. Of 327 invited leaders 280 attended this meet.
