Inspired  by a resounding victory in the just concluded lok Sabha elections the Bhartiya Janata Party has decided to launch a month-long special membership campaign from August 25 with an aim to bring youths, women and people from Backward, Most Backward and Scheduled  Castes under party fold.
BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said that a special membership campaign will be launched from August 25 which will target youths, women, Backward, Most Backward and Scheduled Castes.
Pathak said the campaign is aimed at consolidating the lead gained by the party in the recently held general elections. Party and its ally Apna Dal had won 73 out of 80 seats in just
concluded lok Sabha polls.
What prompted party to go for a membership drive was victory party got in those areas where it did not have a strong support base. The think tank of party feels that if BJP could get votes in those areas where
it does not have workers this means party has sympathisers there and they need to be tapped.
“Those areas have been identified and people have been asked to specially concentrate on those regions,” Pathak said He said BJP would focus on the booths where it got lead for the first time in the lok Sabha polls. “If we can manage booths at the village level in those areas victory of the party in the next assembly elections is ensured,” Pathak said.
