The Uttar Pradesh unit of Bharatiya Janata Party has decided to galvanise its frontal outfits and cells by asking their office-bearers to hold meetings at booth level and apprise villagers of the schemes launched by the government for their welfare.
The focus of these meetings will be ‘cow’ and how they were illegally slaughtered during the previous regime
This decision was taken after all-round criticism that the government faced for its failure to tame stray cattle. It is also believed that Yogi Adityanath government has failed to deliver as the benefits are not reaching the people.
“The need of the hour is to dispel the opposition canard. We need to tell people that many welfare schemes have been launched by the government and their benefits are reaching the people,” a senior BJP leader told ‘The Pioneer’ on Wednesday.
The BJP leader said that frontal outfits of the party had been asked to hold meetings at booth level to galvanise the youths. “All frontal outfits like BJP women’s wing, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha and students wing Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad have been asked to start preparations for the Lok Sabha elections in the right earnest,” he said.
Besides, the party’s kisan cell, doctors’ cell, retired army officers’ cell and advocates’ cell have also been asked to appoint booth-level members, who would hold meetings regularly in villages and report to the party brass.
“The emphasis is also on enrolling new voters and identifying beneficiaries of Central and state government schemes. “One member should be in touch with five such beneficiaries,” the leader said.
