BJP to end TMC hooliganism and misrule in Bengal: Yogi

Published on:

Issuing a clarion call to Bharatiya Janata Party cadre in West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said it was a matter of days when this state would get rid of Trinamool Congress (TMC) and its hooligan elements.
He said that the land of Bengal had always brought change and given direction to the nation through its culture and intrinsic feeling of nationalism.
"But now it (Bengal) is ruled by hooligans. I am shocked to see TMC's malpractices here. The BJP has come here to end this hooliganism," Yogi Adityanath declared while addressing a series of election meetings during his campaign in the Bengal assembly polls. He was on a day's tour to West Bengal on Tuesday.
Addressing the first meeting in Purulia, Yogi said that the people of Bengal were fed up with lawlessness and were looking for a change.
"Bengal has given personalities like Gurudev, Swami Vivekananda, Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee. This is the same land which has given the national anthem and the National song but the same Bengal is now ruled by rowdy elements.
He said only the BJP government could remove the chaos in Bengal and provide the rule of law.
The UP chief minister expressed anguish over the fact that many BJP workers lost their lives at the hands of TMC goons. Mentioning the names of Monica Kumar, Kamili and Hariram Mahato, he said that they had been victims of the sufferings handed to them by the TMC goons.
Yogi said that he was surprised over Bengal chief minister's abhorrence towards the slogan of Jai Shri Ram.
"I do not know why she gets annoyed while I am welcomed with the slogan of Jai Shri Ram," he said and added that "whoever opposed Ram did not remain in power".
Yogi rapped the Congress along with the TMC for their appeasement policy.
"Their secularism comes under scanner when they visit temples but now Mamata Banerjee does 'Chandipath' and Rahul Gandhi offers obeisance at the temples even though he sits in the temple as if offering namaz," he said.
While addressing a gathering at Bankura, Yogi used the term 'cut money' and 'todbazi' and said the TMC and Congress were indulged in such practices.
He came down heavily on the TMC government for allowing cow slaughter in Bengal.
"We have banned cow smuggling and slaughter because we protect and respect cows," the UP chief minister said.
Yogi said that over 2.42 crore farmers had received Kisan Samman Nidhi in four years.
"If the farmers can be benefited in UP, why not in Bengal? The benefits of the government schemes are not allowed to reach the poor because TMC goons encroach on them," he said.
He said that like Uttar Pradesh, Bengal also needed a double engine government so that the welfare schemes of the Centre could be implemented here also. "Have a look at UP where the government has been constructing 30 medical colleges as part of strengthening the health infrastructure. It could happen in Bengal also," he said.
Expressing gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for realising the dream of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat, Yogi said that abolition of Article 370 and construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya was possible only because of BJP.
In Medinipur, Yogi Adityanath was greeted with loud chants of Jai Shri Ram. Addressing the last meeting of the day, Yogi said that the TMC, during its tenure, only spread corruption and anarchy.
"I can say with confidence that the people of Bengal are determined to make changes. The TMC has only deceived the people here. The public could not get basic facilities like roads, electricity and water. I have come to tell the people of Bengal that only the BJP can change people's fortune," he said.
