With the Modi government completing two years’ in office on May 26, the state BJP unit has decided to send its workers to visit villages and celebrate the government’s achievements with them to mark the particular day.
"The party will celebrate the NDA government's two years in office with villagers. They have been asked to stay there and educate people about the pro-poor schemes launched by the Modi government," BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said.
He said that after the party’s recent foray into villages where leaders celebrated Dr Ambedkar’s birth anniversary and listened to the PM’s maan ki baat, the party brass has decided to celebrate completion of the Modi regime's two year in office with rural folks.
"All senior leaders, law makers and party workers have been asked to stay put in gram sabhas of their areas," said Pathak.
The objective is to take the message of good governance of the NDA government to masses. In earlier campaigns too, leaders were asked to speak about Jan Dhan Yojana and other pro-poor schemes. This time leaders would be asked to highlight the 'Ujjawala' scheme, which was launched by the Prime Minister in Ballia on May 1.
Pathak said that all party workers will get talking points. They will be educated to counter CM Akhilesh Yadav’s charge that the BJP government at teh Centre has stopped the grants of UP.
"The party leaders will question as to why has the SP government failed to distribute calamity relief funds among the drought-hit farmers despite the Centre releasing them," Pathak said.
