Hitting out at the Samajwadi Party Government the Bharatiya Janata Party said that when farmers are facing brunt the ruling Akhilesh Yadav Government is spending crores in Saifai mahotsava instead of extending help to the farmers.
“The anti-farmer face of Akhilesh Yadav government has come to the fore. When farmers need the government the most, the government is busy spending crores in celebration of Saifai mahotsava,” BJP state president Dr laxmi Kant Bajpai said in a statement issued here on Sunday.
He said that recently the government had spent Rs 100 crore to celebrate Mulayam Singh yadav’s birthday. The irony is a day before celebration Chief Minister had announced 50 districts as drought hit and still he went and attended that lavish celebration, BJP state president said.
“The Government claims itself to be the messiah of farmers. The government has also announced this year as Kisan Varsh. Government’s commitment is only limited to this announcement. It has taken no initiative to extend help to the farmers who are facing starvation,” he said.
Bajpai said that recently CM has asked DMs to ensure no one dies of hunger and cold. But how DMs can ensure that when they would be busy in Saifai mahotsava, he said.
