Gearing up for the crucial lok Sabha election, the Bharatiya Janata Party has decided to hold its state working committee meeting in Mathura-Vrindavan in mid September and follow it up with organisational programme for party workers.
A decision in this regard was taken in a meeting of the party’s state office-bearers held here on Wednesday. “BJP president Rajnath Singh and head of the party’s election campaign committee, Narendra Modi, will address the state working committee members,” BJP state spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said in a statement released here. Pathak said the office-bearers discussed people-related issues and were of the view that the Samajwadi Party Government was concerned with only the development of Muslims. They said the law and order in the state was bad and corruption was badly affecting implementation of development projects.
“The leaders also discussed the shortage of fertilisers and seeds. They were of the opinion that the atmosphere was building in favour of the BJP and the popularity of Narendra Modi was on the rise,” Pathak said. BJP state president laxmikant Bajpai said the Bahujan Samaj Party, the Samajwadi Party and the Congress now stood exposed. He said the country was facing internal as well as external crises because of the SP and BSP as they were supporting the Congress. In the meeting, work was allotted to the leaders and they were asked to report the progress of their work to party president every fortnight.
