Hitting out at the skewed petroleum policies of the UPA Government the BJP said that country needed a rationalized and uniform petroleum and lPG prices to end the miseries of the people.
Former Petroleum minister in the NDA government and BJP leader Santosh Gangwar said that the UPA government has raised the petroleum prices 31 times in just past five years and had made three rates of lPG cylinders. “ If BJP comes to power, the government will go for rationalisation of the tax structure and uniform rate of the petroleum and lPG in the country,” he told reporters here on Sunday.
Gangwar said that even as the real price of one liter of petrol is just Rs 25 but due to taxes levied by the Centre and the state governments it increases by four times. He also said that there is no need of three types of rates of lPG cylinders. BJP has already raised the issue in their poll manifesto and will implement its promise in letter and in spirit, he said. Meanwhile, Gangwar, a six time MP from Bareilly and party candidate from the same seat, appealed to the Election Commission to deploy more security forces for the third and four phases of elections in the state.
“The incidents of rigging in Rampur and Budaun in the second phase should be prevented in the third phase as the ruling Samajwadi Party ia frustrated because of imminent defeat staring at its face,” he said. “The SP workers can go to any extent to rig the polls in favour of their candidates because they know with this defeat Mulayam’s dream of becoming Prime Minister of the country would be dashed,” he stated. BJP leader also claimed that now Narendra Modi wave is sweeping across the country. “The party is destined to win more than 300 seats,” he declared.
