BJP slams Cong for Iftar party

The decision of Congress to hold Iftar party at a posh five star hotel came for criticism as Bharatiya Janata party questioned holding Iftar when national leadership has cancelled it on the pretext of drought in many parts of the country.

“The Congress speaks with forked tongue. On one hand the Congress leadership in New Delhi cancels Iftar party saying it will not hold it this year due to droughts in several parts of the country and terms holding Iftar as unnecessary use of money. But UP Congress made a U turn after announcing not to hold iftar this year and organised it at five star hotel, " BJP spokesperson Vijay Bahadur Pathak said hereon Sunday.

“On one hand Congress expresses so much concern for the poor and the drought hit people but on the other hand holds the Iftar at five star hotel”, he said adding that of the party wanted to hold Iftar it could have done it at party office as is done previous years.

Pathak claimed that the act of the Congress proves that  the leaders are yet to come out of their five star culture. “The leaders make false claims about their concern about  poor but in reality their hearts bleed for lavish spread,” he said.

Meanwhile Congress held an Iftar Party which was attended by senior party leaders including UP in-charge Ghulan Nabi Azad, state party president Nirmal Khatri, Pramod Tiwari, Rita Bahuguna Joshi and others.
