Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) State president, laxmi Kant  Bajpai attacked Centre Government for imposing service  tax even on those who perform rituals during cremation or  during other prayers etc.

He claimed that this decision will prove last nail in the  coffin for the United Progressive Alliance (UPA)   government whose days are now already numbered as the  people have been ready to up-root the Congress as soon as  they will get the opportunity. He also threatened that the  party leaders will stage a huge demonstration against it on  all district head-quarters and will hand over a memorandum  addressed to President, Pranab Mukherjee requesting him  to intervene in the matter on coming Monday.  Rs Rs Imposing service tax on astrologers, domestic seers who  help in performing puja and marriage functions, tarocards  readers, palmistry, etc along with those who perform rituals  during cremation is worst then what the Britishers taxed the  democratically elected government after Independence  which is known as Jaziya Tax", asserted BJP state  president while flaying decision of UPA government in this  regard.   In a statement released here on Saturday evening,  laxmi

Kant Bajpai said that the Congress had to pay the price for  putting the pandits and other gurus as Rs Tax evaders’ (Kar  chor) if they will not pay the service and that threatening to  impose 200 percent fine on them. Rs Rs Anti-Hindu policies of  Congress like awarding imprisonment upto three years for  those who will be held for not pay service tax will surely  proved too costly for the UPA government and they had to  pay the price for it in next General elections", threatened  BJP state president.  He said that the move was made just  to please the minority community whom the government  even gave subsidy if they go for Rs Haj’.
