BJP says SP govt's employment claims are false

Even as Samajwadi Party Government claimed in Vidhan Sabha that an investment of Rs 20,666 crore has come in Uttar Pradesh in last three years giving employment to over 12.65 lakh people the BJP staged a noisy walkout saying the claims of the government were false.

The issue came up during question hour when State dairy development minister Rammurti Singh Verma while replying to a query of Satish Mahana (BJP) and others said that Government was able to build a conducive atmosphere for industries.

“In a period between 2012 and 2015 an investment of Rs 20,666 crore has come in UP. Over 1.35 lakh industries have been set up in last three years giving jobs to over 12.65 lakh people,” the minister said.

BJP members alleged that hundred of industries have left UP due to lack of facilities given to the industries by the government. lokendra Kumar (BSP) said that leather industry is slowly shifting to Chennai because of lack of infrastructure facilities in Agra.

The minister said that the Government has given incentives to industries like giving 10 per cent subsidy on the power tariff to new units. He also said that he had no information about exodus of industries from the state.

Agriculture: Government informed the Vidhan Sabha that the agriculture growth rate in the state has come down drastically to 1.1 per cent in 2013-14 from 6 per cent recorded in 2011-12. In 2012-13 the agriculture growth rate was 4.8 per cent.

Minister of state for Agriculture Rajiv Kumar Singh could not explain the reason for decline in the growth rate. “The Government is doing its bit to provide facilities to the farmers. To improve irrigational facilities in the state government has sanctioned installation of 500 solar-based water pumps. Of these sanctioned pumps 800 have already been installed,” he said.

Singh also informed that government gives a subsidy of 75 per cent to the farmers on these solar water pumps, of which, 45 per cent is borne by the state and 30 per cent by the Centre.
