Hitting out at the Samajwadi Party Government, the Bharatiya Janata Party state unit said that over five lakh youth were deprived of jobs because of the lack of vision of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav who was more concerned at pulling wool over the eyes of the people than doing something concrete.
“The Chief Minister talks about generating employment for youth but is himself sitting tight over a proposal to set up subordinate service selection commission. Because of this, the Government cannot start selection process for Class C posts,” BJP state spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said here on Wednesday.
He said that had the subordinate service selection commission been set up, it would have given jobs to at least five lakh youth.
“This would have not only speeded up government working but also provided jobs to the youth,” he added.
“The state Government tried to bring ordinance twice but withheld its decision because of lack of unanimity in selection of chairman and members of the commission. The people who matter in power want their candidates for these coveted posts and this is hindering the selection process,” Pathak said.
The BJP state spokesman said if the Chief Minister could not decide on chairman and members of the proposed commission, how could he take tough decisions.
“The Government is mired by indecisiveness. Hundreds of posts of gram panchayat and gram vikas adhikaris are lying vacant but the Government does not know whether these posts will be filled by the state service commission or through departmental promotions. This indecisiveness has adversely affected development of the state,” he said.
Pathak said instead of solving these basic issues, the state ministers and the spokesman of Samajwadi Party were issuing high sounding statements.
“If the state Government is willing to carry forward development in the state, it should make use of the Central Government projects. Instead of utilising this opportunity, the Samajwadi Party leaders are busy in issuing anti-BJP statements,” Pathak said.
