Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav accused the BJP government of insulting the farmers and charged that the regime has developed a deep sense of hostility towards the masses as it was confident of retaining power by hook or crook.
In a statement issued in Lucknow on Tuesday, Akhilesh said that the BJP believed that if a government could be formed by bluffing and could be run for four years, then there was no need for being sensitive towards public grievances.
“The BJP seems to have decided that there was no need for working for fulfilling the aspirations of people and pursuing development and welfare works. Even after completing four years in office, the Yogi government has been unable to project a single remarkable work and achievement,” he said.
The SP chief further alleged that the BJP had ditched the farmers after making false promises of debt waiver and has started making excuses to recover the amount given under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. “Many farmers in Bundelkhand region have committed suicide due to the anti -farmers policies of the BJP regime,” he said.
The SP leader said that farmers have been agitating for the repeal of three agricultural laws and the demand of a new law guaranteeing Minimum Support Price at Delhi borders with Haryana and UP to which the BJP remains insensitive.
The former UP CM said that the condition of Kanpur’s Smart City was also despicable as there were potholes on roads and people get injured after falling into them. “I strongly believe that the people of the state would give a befitting answer to this BJP fraud in the 2022 Assembly elections,” he said.
