Calling Urban Development Minister Md Azam Khan as mentally bankrupt the BJP asked Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to clear cloud whether he agrees with his minister’s statement.
“Yadav should confirm whether he ascribes the statement of his minister. If not, he should thrown this man out of ministry because his statement smacks of anti-national feelings and sedition charges should be leveled against him,” BJP spokesman Manoj Mishra said in a statement here on Sunday.
Azam Khan had claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had met Dawood Ibrahim during his recent visit to Pakistan. The Indian Government has denied any such meeting.
Dr Mishra said that Azam Khan has a penchant to give statements to earn headlines. He never realizes that such irresponsible statements could harm the image of the country. “CM should immediately throw this man out of cabinet,” he said adding CM should also clarify as why he is carrying such a person in his cabinet..
Suspended IPS officer Amitabh Thakur too too criticised Azam Khan for his comment. “The way UP minister Azam Khan has made statement about PM Narendra Modi meeting Dawood Ibrahim in Nawaz Sharif’s house, is not merely irresponsible and stupid, it also has extremely dangerous national and international ramifications,” he said.
“Hence as a responsible citizen of this Nation and State, I appeal to UP Chief Minister to immediately sack this man who did not wink twice before putting national interest on dock for his own selfish goals,” he said.
