leaders and activists of the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) staged a state-wide demonstration at district head-quarters to protest the suspension of SDM of Gautambudhnagar (Noida), Durga Shakti Nagpal. They termed the action against the officer as victory of mining mafias and criminal elements. In lucknow, the Party also took out candle march in support of the suspended IAS officer on Saturday evening.
leading the protest at district head-quarter in Meerut onSaturday afternoon, State president of the BJP, laxmikant Bajpai charged state government for acting at behest of the criminals and sand mining mafias to suspend a honest and young IAS officer. He threatened Akhilesh Yadav’s government that if the suspension of Nagpal has been not revoked immediately than they will be forced to fight her battle for justice on roads.
Handing over a memorandum in this regard to chief minister through district magistrate of Meerut, laxmikant Bajpai said that the honesty of the Durga Shakti Nagpal is evident from the fact that government earned revenue of just Rs 1.90 lakh during last year but in this year till now this earning reached to Rs 21 crore which is also record in last few years. He further charged that action was taken at behest of mining mafias is also evident from the fact that on July 25, state government transferred Asheesh Kumar, the mining officer of Noida and just two later, Durga was suspended. He said that Asheesh Kumar was attacked five times by mining mafias during his short tenure in Noida.
BJP’s state president claimed that what is more surprisingand showed that how the Akhilesh Yadav’s government tried to give the entire issue a communal colour is that when no communal tension persists in Noida allegedly for raising down the wall at on-going construction site of a mosque on government’s land but still Samajwadi Party leaders and even Chief minister claimed that the action was taken as there were reports that Durga’s move might spark communal tension.
According to incharge of the BJP State Media Cell, ManishShukla, while Bajpai led the protest in Meerut, party MP Yogi Adityanath led the demonstration in Gorakhpur, while in other districts, local party presidents led the protest on Saturday. He claimed that in lucknow, they also took out candle march from Capital crossing till statute of Sardar Ballabh Bhai Patel through Hazratganj main market. Meanwhile the Shiv Sena activists also gathered infront of Vidhan Sabha and staged a demonstration in favour of Durga Shakti Nagpal. The party leaders gathered at dharna sthal and raised slogan against the state government demanding to immediately revoke the suspension of suspended IAS officer, here on Saturday afternoon.
