Hinting at a realignment of anti-Congress parties, Bharatiya Janata Party president Rajnath Singh said the Janata Dal (United) could re-join the National Democratic Alliance after the lok Sabha election.
Indications to this possible political re-alignment that could re-define political equations of the country post-lok Sabha election has set the ball rolling about rapprochement between two allies- BJP and JD (U) – who parted ways recently. ‘’Though BJP has benefited after JD(U) walked out of NDA. But I have a gut feeling that JD(U) will rejoin the NDA after lok Sabha elections,’’ he said without elobaorating as what had made him to think so.
Calling upon the political outfits who follow the ideology ofJayprakash Narain and Ram Manohar lohia to follow anti-congress agenda and come on a common platform, Singh said even Mahatma Gandhi had suggested to dissolve the Congress after independence.
Without taking names of Samajwadi party or Janata Dal (U) he said JP and lohia were against Congress. “It is unfortunate that political parties who swear to follow JP and lohia’s ideology are in nexus with the Congress,” he said in an informal chat with reporters here on Wednesday.

He also said party has not decided as yet whether Modi will contest the lok Sabha election. ‘’Modi ji is a popular leader. He can contest the lok Sabha elections from anywhere he wants,’’ the BJP president said.
Ruling out any differences with senior party leader lal Krishna Advani, the BJP chief said said Advani ji is our leader and has never objected Narendra Modi becoming the campaign committee head.
‘’Advan ji has always led the party with sagacity and will continue to do so in future,” he said.
Earlier, Rajnath Singh defended Gujarat Chief Minister on his reported controversy that he had saved 15,000 Gujaratis from Uttarakhand. ‘’
Modi had never claimed this. He has been misquoted in the media,” he said.
Singh, who is making his maiden visit to lucknow after becoming the BJP president for the second time, said that the party has suspended the ‘ Jail Bharo’ programme because of Uttarakhand disaster.
Addressing party workers at the state party headquarters he asked them to donate generously for the relief in Uttarakhand.
