Aiming to connect with farmers at the block level on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on December 25,  Kisan Samvad will be held where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with the farmers.

A plan was charted out for Kisan Samvad at a meeting attended by BJP state chief Swatantra Dev Singh and state general secretary (organisation) Sunil Bansal and other senior leaders in Lucknow on Wednesday..

Singh said that opposition parties were spreading confusion among the farmers about agricultural reform laws whereas the truth was that the laws would open new opportunities for the community.

The BJP leader told party officials that under the Kisan Samman Nidhi, the prime minister would transfer Rs 18,000 crore to nine crore farmer families on December 25.

Discussing the plan, Bansal said that party workers should choose a place where this Kisan Samvad programme could be held and the local unit should ensure large participation of people at the ground level.

In the Kisan Samvad programme, all MPs of the ruling party, MLAs and public representatives, including officials of corporations, boards and cooperative societies, will participate.

The BJP has also decided that all public representatives, including party officials of the state, region, district, mandal, sector should be present at their booths and pay tribute to Atalji on December 26 and 27.
