Cocking a snook at the Indian Constitution, BJP MLA from Bairia (Ballia) Surendra Singh said that the Constitution meant nothing before Ram temple and, if required, people could break the law as they did while demolishing Babri mosque in 1992. “Ram temple will be constructed at any cost. No force on the earth can stop it. If required, the people would break the law like they did in 1992. It is a matter of our faith, which is above the law and the Constitution,” he told reporters in Ballia on Friday.
The Ballia MLA said: “I will go to Ayodhya along with 10,000 supporters on Sunday. I am ready to break the law, if required. Whatever will be the order of saints and seers, I will follow.”
Singh made this announcement in his Assembly constituency while leading a procession to appeal to the people to join Dharma Sabha to be held in Ayodhya on November 25. There saints and seers are expected to demand the early construction of Ram temple.
Singh also exhorted people in his constituency to participate in a big way at the VHP-sponsored Dharma Sabha. “It is once in a lifetime opportunity. A majority of youths were not witness to the 1992 event. For them, November 25 will be a big event and they will realise what exactly happened in 1992,” the BJP MLA said. Singh said that in 1992, people had come and demolished Babri mosque while the coming congregation was aimed at the early construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya.
