An audio call clip threatening to kill Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Dinanath Bhaskar from Aurai assembly constituency in Bhadohi district went viral on Monday.
After the audio clip was brought to the notice of the police, the local cops swung into action to nab the culprit. However, no case was registered as the matter is still under investigation.
The caller is alleged to have threatened to shoot the MLA if any harm was caused to his son who, the caller claimed, was missing.
Reports said that one Dhirendra Dubey, claiming to be a native of Shahpur, made a call to the MLA and accused him of kidnapping his son. Dubey reportedly said if any harm was caused to his son, he would not spare the MLA and kill him.
When the MLA said he did not understand what the caller wanted to say, the caller again said that his son was missing since the last 24 hours and if any harm was done to his son, he would get him (MLA) killed.
The caller even abused the ADG.
In the audio clip, the MLA is repeatedly heard asking the caller of the entire incident but he continues to issue life threats.
The audio clip was made viral on social media by the MLA's supporters.
Aurai in-charge inspector Shrikant Rai said the case was being investigated.
