The younger brother of a BJP MLA from Tirwa seat of Kannauj, who was infected by coronavirus, ended his life by leaping off the terrace of a medical college hospital on Friday.
As per reports, Sanjay Rajput (45), the younger brother of legislator Kailash Rajput, had tested positive for coronavirus infection on August 28 and was admitted to Kannauj medical college hospital after his condition worsened.
However, he jumped off the terrace of the hospital later on Friday afternoon.
The MLA and local officers reached the spot to collect first hand information and ascertain the reason for the suicide.
Other family members, including Sanjay’s wife, also tested positive. All of them were in home isolation at their Chhibramau residence.
On Friday, Sanjay Rajput’s condition worsened and he was admitted to Kannauj medical college hospital and put up in a private ward on the second floor.
The cause behind the incident is yet to be ascertained.
