Senior leaders of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party unveiled a 700-kg marble idol of Lord Parshuram at Sahasovir Baba temple in Krishnanagar area of Lucknow on Friday.
Deputy Chief Minister Dr Dinesh Sharma unveiled the idol in the presence of several senior party leaders including UP minister Brajesh Pathak, Allahabad MP Rita Bahuguna Joshi and Lucknow Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia. The idol was installed on the initiative of Rita Bahuguna Joshi’s son Mayank Joshi.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Sharma said that those interpreting the word Brahmin should understand that Brahmin was not a caste but the name of a way of living life.
"One who adheres to the feeling of welfare not for himself but for all, who says that there should be goodwill among living beings, who says that in everyone's happiness is my happiness, who wishes for the happiness of others, who from birth to death wishes everyone well is a Brahmin. For Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ji all castes and all communities are equal," he said.
UP Law Minister Brajesh Pathak said that keeping in mind the basic mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’, the BJP was continuously working for the development of all sections of society.
"Our Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ji has done commendable work not only in religion but in every field, whether it is loan waiver for farmers or construction of medical colleges," he said.
Addressing the gathering, Rita Bahuguna Joshi said that parties talking big things today, ignored Indian culture, religion, castes when they got the chance to govern during their regime.
