BJP leaders hit out at Mamata

Bharatiya Janata Party leaders, including party lawmakers and ministers in UP government, hit out at Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee for denying landing permission to Yogi Adityanath’s chopper, saying her behaviour was undemocratic and does not behove of chief minister of a state.

BJP legislator Surendra Singh, known for his derogatory remarks against opposition leaders, created a controversy by calling Mamata Banerjee a “demon”.

Referring to Ramayana, Singh said Mamata Banerjee appeared to be inspired by Surasa, a demon, who blocked the entry of Lord Hanuman in Lanka. “If (Narendra) Modiji is like Lord Ram, then Yogiji is like Lord Hanuman,” said the MLA from Bairia assembly constituency in Ballia.

Talking to mediapersons, the BJP MLA said the act of Mamata Banerjee of not giving landing permission to the chopper of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in West Bengal on Sunday proved that she was inspired by Surasa and tried to stop Yogiji from addressing rallies in West Bengal.

Health Minister Sidharth Nath Singh was more polished in his words when he said that Mamata Banerjee’s behaviour was undemocratic in denying landing permission to Yogi’s  chopper. He also said Mamata Banerjee’s dharna was also unconstitutional.

In a tweet, Singh wrote: “MamataBanerjee is known 4 undemocratic behaviour b it permission 2 BJP Rath Yatra, helicopters of Sh Amit Shah & Sh Yogiadityanath, this time #MamataVsCBI has crossed all her previous wrongdoing . Modiji as CM also made himself available to agency. Law of land shd b respected.”
