The state Bharatiya Janata Party unit said on Thursday that the party has launched its '265 Plus' mission through its 'Gramodyog se Bharat Udai' campaign to mark Dr Ambedkar’s 125th birth anniversary on Thursday.

BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said that state chief Keshav Prasad Maurya has asked party workers to take this campaign to all 52,000 gram panchayts in UP. This is in addition to the `Samarasta Diwas’ function which is being celebrated all over the state for three days.

Pathak said that to ensure that the programme is a success, workers up to the village lavel have been sensitised and meetings were being held at the village level where work of Dr Ambedkar would be discussed in detail.

In lucknow, a meeting was held at Kaiserbagh office where city chief Mukesh Sharma said that Dr Ambedkar did not belong to a party or a community as he was the man who gave voice to the downtrodden and taught people to respect all.

In another meeting in Telibagh, party MP Kaushal Kishore said that some political parties claim their copyright on Dr Ambedkar which is absolutely wrong. "Baba Saheb always fought for the society. He never talked about caste. His concern was poor and downtrodden," he said.

Teh leaders asked workers to spread the message of equality among the masses maintaining that the BJP has always fought for the rights of poor and will do so in future.
